About RV Excursions

Our Story ...

Often we're asked how we came up with the idea to rent our RV. For us, that's a pretty interesting story!
A few years ago we decided to rent an RV and see as much of the western US as we could in 2 weeks. There was a little hesitation on our part since our kids were 5 and 3 at the time. But, after months of planning and a lot of praying we did it!

Our trip began with a cross-country flight to Las Vegas where we rented a class C motorhome. At that time I had never stepped foot in an RV nor had I ever driven one. After we picked it up in Las Vegas, we headed straight to the Grand Canyon and from there, zigzagged our way to Yellowstone stopping at every national park in between. It was quite an adventure and we all had a blast! We met new people, made lasting memories and decided we would do it again as soon as we could. A few months later we purchased our class A motorhome and in short, that's how we got into RVing!

Our rental business started (by accident) a day after Hurricane Katrina slammed into the northern Gulf Coast. That day we received a call from a friend of a friend who happened to be a producer for Dateline NBC. Crews were in route to cover the devastation and NBC was desperately seeking a place for them to stay while they were on location. The producer in charge decided they also needed a driver since no one in the group was familiar with the area. My business was closed as a result of the storm, so I was able to drive the RV for them. What was supposed to be a 3-day trip to Biloxi ended three weeks later and just a couple of blocks away from the anarchy and chaos in New Orleans. During my stint with Dateline I had the pleasure of hosting a number of well known NBC reporters like Campbell Brown, Keith Morrison, Hoda Kotb, Chris Hanson, Ann Curry, Stone Phillips and others. They treated me like family and even today many of us stay in touch!

Over the last few years we've had some amazing adventures with our RV. Hurricane evacuations, housing Dateline, football games, weekend camping trips and traveling cross-country have all created lasting memories for our family. Now we want to make it possible for others to experience what we have by renting our RV.
